Set the aircraft
Create an aircraft profile with characteristic dimension, maximum speed and mass, and note whether it carries a parachute. Activate the profile you want to assess. Switch profile at any time and every risk figure recalculates.
Ovandig Design · SORA 2.5 · U-space
Ovandig Design turns aircraft, airspace and population data into a SORA 2.5 risk picture on one shared map. Set the aircraft, plan the route, draw the operational area around it and see the SAIL along the way.
Why one shared map
A U-space or a BVLOS operation involves the authority, air navigation services, the region or municipality and the operator. They all refer to the same volume, the same ground risk and the same restrictions.
When that lives in separate shapefiles, PDFs and email threads, versions drift apart, and reviews stall on the differences. In Ovandig Design the project is the single source: one operational area, one risk picture, and everyone involved invited to see it.
Workflow
Start with the aircraft and the routes you want to fly. The tool computes what can be computed from data. You review, adjust and justify the rest.
Create an aircraft profile with characteristic dimension, maximum speed and mass, and note whether it carries a parachute. Activate the profile you want to assess. Switch profile at any time and every risk figure recalculates.
Add the drones you will fly and link each one to an aircraft profile. The airframe type follows the profile, and each drone appears on the map with its own symbol.
Draw the route you want to fly and set the speed on each leg. Flight geography, contingency volume and ground risk buffer are drawn from the aircraft's performance. Drag a waypoint and the buffers follow.
Draw the operational area around your routes and set its lower and upper altitude. The area is your future U-space volume and stays the same whichever aircraft you assess. Ovandig Design computes the initial ARC where the area meets controlled or restricted airspace, and the intrinsic ground risk for every 1 km population cell. The map shows the SAIL along your route.
In the air, accept or adjust the ARC and record strategic mitigations to reach the residual ARC. On the ground, draw sheltering, operational restriction and ground observation areas, mark controlled ground areas and claim M2 where the aircraft carries a parachute. Each ground region gets its final GRC, and the SAIL along the route updates.
Features
Airspace structure for the Nordic countries, soon the whole EU, split into lower and upper airspace. UAS geographical zones for selected regions.
ADS-B traffic on the map while you plan, so you see how the airspace is actually used.
Official population statistics per square kilometre, with day and night estimates of people on the ground.
iGRC, ARC and SAIL from the JARUS SORA 2.5 tables, with M1A, M1B, M1C and M2 reductions applied in order.
DD, DMS and UTM coordinates, manual vertex entry, a map ruler, and export to KML and GeoJSON.
Two-factor authentication on every account, per-project access control, and hosting in Sweden.
Collaboration
A project holds the operational area, aircraft, mitigations and routes. Invite colleagues to edit and stakeholders to follow along.
Pricing
A project is one operation or one U-space area, with everything in it. Pay by card.
Prices exclude VAT. Invoicing on request for annual plans. Swedish customers pay 25 % VAT; reverse charge applies to EU businesses with a valid VAT number.
Advisory
We help regions, operators and service providers set up U-space and get BVLOS operations approved. The same team builds the tool.
